Clugston Group is celebrating its 75th anniversary

This Year Clugston Group, is celebrating its 75th anniversary and in addition to organising events to celebrate this significant corporate milestone we have also set ourselves the challenge of raising £75,000 for a number of regional charities. In this way we hope to leave a small legacy from the year which will benefit our local communities.

Fund raising events will be taking place throughout 2012 and will include, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a 38 mile cycle ride from Lincoln to Boston and a 10 kilometre swim.

Clugston will also be pledging funds from savings made thanks to the introduction of energy saving and carbon reducing technologies – all part of a Group-wide sustainable strategy for the future - such as the recent installation of photovoltaic panels at its offices in Scunthorpe, and the installation of Safer Driving Assistants on 20 vehicles in the company’s logistics fleet. The technology promotes fuel and carbon efficient driving by providing drivers with real time in-cab alerts about their driving style.

The company, which has offices in Scunthorpe, Leeds and Hebburn, will also be holding a number of commemorative events throughout 2012 involving the company’s 500 employees, retired staff, customers and suppliers.
