£3 Million Contract for Sheffield College

Clugston Constructions’ Leeds Office is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract worth £3 million. The project which is for Sheffield College involves the design and construction of a 1,200-1,600 square metre extension to the Peaks Centre.
The development which will also include the refurbishment of up to 600 square metres of the existing internal space will provide vocational training areas for the students attending The Peaks Centre Campus.The new extension will help to create an extra 300 course places and include some brand new facilities, available to students from September 2011.
James Smythe, Associate Director of Peaks College, said: “We are delighted with the progress of our growing college, which aims to improve opportunities for local young people. Applications are now being accepted.”Young people in the area will have a new range of courses to choose from delivered in partnership with local schools. Provision includes foundation learning, vocational qualifications, GCSEs and A levels.
New facilities at Peaks College from September include a learning resource centre, refectory, extra science laboratory, enterprise hub, workshops, performance spaces and wireless internet access.
Clugston Construction’s business manager Nick Todd who is responsible for the privately owned contractors activities in Yorkshire commented, “We are pleased to have been awarded the contract to carry out the work at Sheffield College.
