Clugston Chief Executive Scoops Top Regional Business Award

Clugston Group Chief Executive Stephen Martin was named Wilkin Chapman Business Person of the Year in this years “Harry Potter” themed Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards. Organised by Hull and Humber Chamber of Commence, Clugston were also runners up in two further highly contended categories, The Grimsby Institute of Further Education, Excellence in Training Award and the Conoco Phillips Award for Excellence in Community Relations.

Presented by GM TV’s Helen Fospero, at a spectacular event, held at the Grimsby Auditorium on Friday 11th May, the evening was a celebration of the activities of businesses on the South Humber Bank.

Speaking about Clugstons success, Stephen Martin said

Having been shortlisted for more awards than any other Company and to walk away with this recognition, has made me so proud of everyone in the Company. They have done a great job and all pulled together through these difficult times”

The individual Award was presented to Stephen for his involvement in the restructuring of Clugston to run on a subsidiary basis centred on three core operations; construction, logistics and property development and record financial results for the Group delivered during the year .He was also recognised for raising the importance of worker engagement following his groundbreaking participation in the C4 “Undercover Boss” programme.

Meanwhile Clugstons' commitment to continuing its investment in Training and Community Engagement were praised, especially considering the harsh economic climate experienced over the last year.
