Clugston Group Chairman's Award for 2009/10

Clugston Group has recently announced the results of this years Chairman’s awards. Presented by Group Chairman, John Clugston, they are awarded annually for outstanding performance by individuals and business units within the Northern Lincolnshire based logistics property and construction company.

This year the individual Achievement Award for a staff member went to Russ Pask from the building and civil engineering arm Clugston Construction.

Russ was presented with the award for the excellent all round result at Wintringham Academy in Grimsby where he was the project manager on the new £19million facility. Winner of the 2009 HSE Overall Award, he was instrumental in delivering an excellent facility which has met with praise from the client both in terms of the quality and the effective manner in which it was delivered.

The Business Unit Award went to the team at Clugston Distribution Services, Automated Distribution Centre led by Neil Bond. Despite enduring the worst economic climate the Steel Industry has seen in modern times, Neal and the ADC team continued to successfully operate through the peaks and troughs over the last 2 years. With minimal staff, the Centre has managed operations and been able to adjust to the fluctuating volumes encountered.

Finally in recognition of the hard work undertaken by individual operatives within the business, awards were also made to Jason Cooper from the construction business, and Mark Thompson from distribution.
In presenting the award to Jason, John Clugston thanked him for his willingness to go the extra mile especially during the building of the Morrisons Store in Stratford, North London,(adjacent to the Olympic Park,) where his commitment made a significant impact on the project.

Turning to Mark he commended him for the multitude of tasks he carries out on CDSL and customer vehicles at the Brigg Road depot for servicing and MOT testing. “Mark is one of that breed of loyal, willing and helpful people that make Clugston special to our customers and fellow work colleagues.” Added John.
