The Story So Far
Following last years highly successful Channel 4 programme, in which Clugston Chief Executive, Stephen Martin went back to site "incognito" , a new series is currently being run on Thursday evenings at 9pm. To end the run, which has featured organisations such Harry Ramsdens, Best Western, Viridor and The Jockey Club, an updated Clugston episode is being screened later this year.
The format which was copied in the US and which Stephen was involved in promoting, became a highly successful series. When launched on CBS, following last years Super Bowl, it achieved a audience of 38.6 million viewers, a record for a new series. Unlike in the UK where companies were originally reticent about participating, the Americans jumped at the chance and the US version included many multinational companies. However the format has now been revisited in the UK and to conclude the series a re-edited Clugston episode will be shown later this year.
The original programme was based around a ten-day experiment. Stephen changed his suit for a pair of safety boots and helmet and commenced working undercover on various sites around the country.
