Group Chief Executive

The world's first Chief Executive to appear in the Undercover Boss TV format, joined Clugston in December 2006.

He has restructured the business to operate on a subsidiary company basis and implemented a business strategy to focus on three core operations – construction, logistics and property development.

With a degree in quantity surveying, his earlier career was in property services, industry and construction including periods with Westinghouse Security Systems, Kværner Metals, Amey Rail and Barhale Construction.

With an MBA from London Business School, he is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. He is also a companion of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

His commitment to innovative ways of enabling learning and developing within organisations has resulted in him becoming a Business Ambassador for the Government Minister for Yorkshire & The Humber and a Skills Champion for Business in the Community.

He is a member of the advisory board of the World Trade Centre Hull and Humber, the Young Enterprise Humber Strategic Board and the Humber Economic Partnership.

Stephen became the world's first Chief Executive to become an Undercover Boss, a TV format which has been translated accross the globe and has enjoyed enormous success in the United States of America.
