Total LOR had a requirement to relocate their engineering offices and stores facilities to allow the expansion of their refinery operations. Clugston were appointed to design and construct the 2300m² workshop, including the provision of a 10 tonne capacity overhead crane, the 2250m² stores and 740m² catalyst store buildings. All structures were single portal, composite clad buildings with fire sprinkler systems and racking to the stores. We also installed the infrastructure for modular buildings including a canteen and offices, gatehouse and substation. This two storey volumetric modular building provides engineering staff accommodation.
The design and construction of a rail siding, locomotive shed, locomotive jacking slab and bunded slab within the existing refinery boundary, to strict oil industry safety and permitting standards, was also included.
DLG International designed the 15000m² concrete yards, 480 space car park, the 200m access road complete with removable roundabouts to allow access for long loads, 350m spine road, upgrading of the adoptable road adjacent the site to allow deceleration lanes, an unsealed access road across the refinery rail system into the refinery to allow heavy and long load delivery and the significant quantity of drainage, box culverts and ducting required. Clugston constructed these works and erected a palisade fence some 1200m long to provide security to the site.
