Bretton Street Developments is a new development situated approximately one mile south of Dewsbury town centre. The site extends to almost 27 acres and provides an attractively landscaped business park.
The site is a former gas works which required extensive remediation. This resulted in the excavation of approx 54000 cum of spoil which was analysed and treated as necessary. This resulted in 1700 cum being removed from site and a further 7000 cum treated on site by means of bioremediation enabling it to be reused as engineered fill.
The programme was a rolling programme to suit the clients requirements and resulted in a build time of 72 weeks in 2 phases for the construction of four industrial units together with all necessary infrastructure under section 38, 104 and 278 agreements.
The units are of steel frame construction with single span portal frame, low level brickwork and twin skin cladding with internal single storey office accommodation, external concrete service yards and tarmac car parking areas.

The infrastructure works consist of the construction of a 550m long adoptable road, sewers and mains services together with a 3000 cum box culvert attenuation tank. Clugston was awarded the Design and Build contract to complete the initial phases on the site to include workshop units for start up business, warehousing and office space along with associated infrastructure to service the new units and future developments.
